Frequently Asked Questions (...and their answers!)
What is Dreya's Place?
Dreya's Place contracts with pet owners to care for their pets when they are no longer able - i.e. when they pass away or move to assisted living, nursing care, or hospice.
Does Dreya's Place accept any/all pets?
Unfortunately, there are some pets we cannot accept into Dreya's Place. This could be because of space and resources, animal temperament, or safety of our residents and staff. Each prospective pet needs to be evaluate to ensure that we can properly serve him/her and give your pet the life they deserve while they are without you.
Is Dreya's Place a shelter?
Oh gosh no! Dreya's Place is a home! Pets who are contracted to come to D.P come to live with me where I will care for them as I do my own pets, fosters, and pet-sitting clients! Emotionally, socially, and physically cared for, ensuring an enviable, healthy, joyful quality of life.
Currently, my home is in Mansfield, Texas, but as my residents/clients outgrow my home here, I plan to relocate to a location that will support our growing numbers. As we grow, I will also employ trusted assistance to maintain a high standard of care.

Does Dreya's Place adopt out its client-pets?
Good question! The answer is: It's entirely up to the contracting pet owner.
The default contract assumes the pet will be living with us for the rest of his/her life. However... if (ONLY IF) the contacting pet owner prefers that the client-pet be in a private home with his/her own family and without so many pets as will be in residence at D.P., there is an addendum we can add to make your pet adoptable. In order to do that, the contracting pet-owner and Dreya's Place representative will detail the conditions and stipulations together and they will be strictly adhered to when the time comes.

What does it cost to place my pet with Dreya's Place?
The cost to leave your pet with Dreya's Place depends upon the species, breed, age, health, and size of the pet at the time of contract. Keeping in mind that the amount is an estimate for care and maintenance of your loved one for the remainder of his/her life, amounts vary for felines and canines, with a negotiated deposit at the time of contract. Payments can be in varying forms from cash, paid up front (for a reduced total amount) to a life insurance policy, paid out at the time of need, or trust included in the personal will of the contracting pet owner.
